Voluntary helpers are required to prepare the returns. Volunteers should have some computer literacy, good communication / interpersonal skills, detail-oriented and willing to learn.
Volunteers are also required to make appointments, verify identity and taxpayer information before being assigned to a tax advisor. Education is required and tax accountants must pass an exam to become certified.
How to complete an application:
• Go to www.aarp.org/taxaide.
• If you participate in the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program, select “Learn more”
• Under “Volunteer Roles†click on the “Submit Interest Form†link and fill out the application.
AARP Tax-Aide works in a safe environment where all volunteers are vaccinated.

Help with Medicare Annual Open Registration
Medicare’s annual open registration takes place October 15 through December 7. Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, Medicare beneficiaries in Forsyth County will receive on-site phone or other virtual assistance as much as possible during the annual enrollment period.
