The University System of Georgia recently named Allison Bennett a College of Coastal Georgia Academic Recognition Day 2021 Awardee.

Bennett, who completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in May, was selected for her exemplary academic performance in her degree programs.

Academic Recognition Day was launched 34 years ago to honor outstanding academics in the higher education system. Each institution selects a single outstanding student from a total of 26 award winners, who are recognized by the Chancellor and the Council of Regency.

Award winners are usually officially recognized at a lunch and ceremony in Atlanta in February. This year, however, the grant recipients were honored through a video presentation at the board meeting in May.

Bennett was previously named an awardee at the college’s annual honor ceremony in April and recently received the Georgia House of Representatives resolution commending the USG’s outstanding scholars.

CCGA President Michelle Johnston shared how Bennett received enthusiastic recommendations for selection to represent the college.
