FRAZIER: Preparing for an issue of Vicksburg Living that everyone will enjoy – The Vicksburg Post
[ad_1]
It’s been a long week.
I worked on the September / October issue of Vicksburg Living magazine, aAnd it never fails, no matter how far in advance I started putting together a problem, it always depends on the wire if you meet the deadline.
Because of the recent changes in the way we design the magazine, I’ve had to get a little more savvy with a computer.
It was not nice. Especially since I have a new laptop that does added to my learning curve.
Curve likes to take it lightly; it was more of an educational boost, and woe to those who will design the magazine.
My precious little editor was a gem when it came to needing help. Not only was she patient and supportive, but she was always encouraging. But Lord doesn’t know what she’s telling her husband until after she has hung up with me for the umpteenth time. It’s probably the best I don’t know.
My youngest daughter was also helpful. She spent a lot of time converting images that I needed with her Photoshop skills.
Although it was a challenge and my brain still feels like mush, I am looking forward to the magazine.
It has a “soccer” theme that you might think would be outside of my wheelhouse, but there are many other aspects to highlight than just the game.
As always, the other reporters in the editorial team did a great job. We have a cute little intern who just amazed me with her writing skills, and Ernest, our sports editor, is the bomb when it comes to proofreading.
I would recommend anyone who doesn’t have a subscription to seriously consider getting one. I think this topic is going to be a topic that people are going to like.
And while I’m at Vicksburg Living Magazine, I’d like to thank all the advertisers again. Without you there would be no magazine and that would be sad.
Not because I wouldn’t do something that I really enjoy, but because Vicksburg has so many interesting people and stories to offer.
After the designers start working on this topic and before it goes to print, there are still a few gaps to be made, but for the most part, I’m done and now I can breathe a sigh of relief.
That is, until it’s time to get the November / December issue out!
