Harvard Women’s Tennis ends Harvard Fall Classic with multiple winners

CAMBRIDGE, MA – It was a very successful weekend for Harvard women’s tennis as they produced multiple winners in their first tournament of the season, which hosted the Harvard Fall Classic. The Crimson competed against players from five schools, including Boston University, Boston College, University of North Texas, Providence College and University of Rhode Island.

Remarkable results

  • In the Pegula doubles draw, the duo was made up Rachel Arbitman and Mihaela Marcellescu defeated angel you and Charlotte Owensby 6-3 in an All-Crimson final.

  • In the Crimson Singles A Flight Finale, the newcomer, Charlotte Owensbycontinued her strong debut weekend by defeating University of North Texas’ Alogo Piqueras 2-6 6-2 6-3.

  • Im Black Singles B Flight, Harvard’s Holly Fisher defeated Boston University’s Navya Vadlamudi 7-6 (7), 7-6 (10).

  • In the White Singles C Flight finals, Olivia Halvorsen of North Texas defeated Harvards Iveta Daujotaite after Daujotaite retired. The couple had separate sets when Daujotaite retired.

  • Another notable Crimson result was the final of the Crimson Flight Singles A Flight Consolation Draw Sophia Ho defeated North Texas’ Olivia Malm 7-6, 4-6, 10-7.

The Crimson travel to Hanover, New Hampshire to compete in the ITA Northeast Regionals from September 30th to October 2nd.
