Introductory Program for PhD Students – India Education | Latest Education News | Global Education News

Aligarh: AMU’s Department of Computer Science organized an induction program for newly admitted PhD students (2021-2022 session) to help new students interact with other students and faculty members and familiarize themselves with the ethos and culture of the university. PhD students were informed about the available modern research infrastructure and research-related policies and other related practices.

Prof. MN Hoda, Director, Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Institute of Computer Applications & Management (BVICAM), New Delhi, Main Guest, outlined the qualities of a good research scientist and also explained in detail the technique of dealing with research problems and the importance of presenting research results in quality journals . He also emphasized the art of doing a good literature review and articulating the research gap as a result of the study.

He sensitized scientists to research ethics and the use of writing aids and the importance of bibliographic and plagiarism detection tools.

Prof. Hoda, Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Information Technology published by Springer, shared his experience of the publication process and stressed the need for translational research with good societal impact

Prof. Aasim Zafar, Chair of the Department of Informatics, provided information on the state-of-the-art research facilities and the services provided by the department. He shared information about different research tools of the Maulana Azad and also informed them about different available scholarships for PhD students.

During the interaction session, the students asked many questions to the resource people.
