SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA., December 31, 2021 / PRNewswire-PRWeb / – Rosenfeld law firm announced today that a motion for a client’s civil conviction as a sexually violent predator (SVP) has been dismissed by the Superior Court of Justice Sacramento (Case # 98673) as a result of the efforts of California Criminal Law and Mental Health Attorney Ken Rosenfeld.
Under California Sexual Offenses Act, Social Code § 6601 et seq., Mr Wohlenberg was requested to become an SVP under civil law. According to WIC Section 6604, a person designated as an SVP is to be detained in the State Department of State Hospitals for an indefinite period of time and treated as a sex offender in a secure facility.
Rosenfeld said his client was relieved to be able to bypass the SVP appointment and reintegrate into the community.
