Freshmen from the University of Evansville moved into their dormitories on Saturday morning.

But as the number of Covid cases in the tri-state continues to rise, it has worried some college students.

44News spoke to Novella Hoskins, a newcomer to UE.

“I’m still a little worried just because you know it’s still an ongoing problem, but it’s subsided a bit, but you can never really like it. It’s always changing, ”she said.

The university has taken precautions to limit the spread of Covid, including compulsory masking in all university buildings.

“If there’s no really, really good reason, get yourself a vaccine. These will help us do the things we want to do on campus. In the meantime, we’ll be wearing masks indoors to make sure we’re protecting one another, said Chris Pietruszkiewicz, president of the University of Evansville.

Both the University of Evansville and the University of Southern Indiana will begin classes next week.
