Net asset value as of December 31, 2021

As of December 31, 2021, the net asset value (NAV) per share of Private Equity Holding AG (PEH) was EUR 152.48 (CHF 157.99), an increase of 57.5% in EUR (50.8% in CHF) in the calendar corresponds to the year 2021, including the distribution of CHF 2 per share in June 2021.

The PEH share price closed the year at CHF 96, which corresponds to an exceptional overall performance of 63% over the last 12 months.

In December, portfolio performance was negatively impacted by both adverse currency movements and the share price performance of various underlying positions. While there were positive valuation adjustments on some of PEH’s direct co-investments, particularly at Design Holding, a high-end global furniture and lighting design group, and certain portfolio funds, including Evolution Technology II and Clarus Lifesciences III, outweighed the negatives The broader correction in technology stocks in December impacted these developments.

PEH has made two fund commitments and a direct co-investment of USD 5.4 million in Inovalon, a leading provider of cloud-based platforms that, together with Insight Partners, enable data-driven healthcare. Inovalon’s ability to connect to the healthcare ecosystem, aggregate and analyze data in real time enables better care, efficiency and financial performance across the healthcare ecosystem. Mainly due to the pre-financing of this investment, PEH’s portfolio was cash flow negative in the month under review, despite distributions of EUR 10.9 million from several portfolio funds, e.g. the Nordic countries for software for plagiarism prevention and detection, and Eagletree IV distributes proceeds from its investment into FuseFX Corp., one of the largest independent visual special effects (“VFX”) studios.
