Second in this year’s Terrier Twelve comes the women’s rowing team, who claimed their first automatic berth in the NCAA in eight years after all three boats made the podium in the Patriot League Championship.

Coxed by sophomores Trisha Jaggi and petted by Junior Tiare Hicks, the second varsity 8 boat, defeated Navy by nearly three seconds to win his first gold medal ever. Both Varsity 8 and Varsity 4 boats took silvers in their respective races to help the Terriers finish with 50 points ahead of six-time defending champions Midshipmen (46 pts) and Bucknell (48 pts) at the top of the standings to land.

BU carried the momentum to the NCAA Championships, where it placed 19th overall and finished ahead of three conference champions – Northeastern (CAA), Rhode Island (Atlantic 10), and Jacksonville (MAAC). The second varsity eight boat advanced to its first C-final since 2013, and the varsity eight boat finished the competition with a victory in the D-final by seven seconds.

In the spring, they opened with a win over PL rivals MIT and added college eight-boat victories over Boston College, Eastern Michigan, Northeastern and Rhode Island.
