Second chance for a personal recruitment event, Wednesday, August 11, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Greater First United Baptist Church, 1409 Deep River Road, High Point, NC. This personal recruitment event is ideal for those involved in the judiciary or looking for a job.

Multiple employers will be attending including Area Wide Protection, McDonald’s, Marco’s Pizza, Take Five, National Pipe & Plastics, Two Twins & A Truck, Bojangles, and more!

This is an outdoor event and no registration is required.

In-person Training Event: Basic Workplace Skills – Attendance and Reliability, on Thursday, August 12th from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Employers are now looking more for employees who are reliable and who will contact you in good time. This course includes instruction on various topics to help you get noticed at work, so that you become an employee who is considered reliable. These include: recognizing behaviors that show reliability, developing strategies for good attendance and time management, understanding appropriate reactions in the event of being late or absent, and learning how to properly follow instructions. In Person Training Event: Interviewing Basics – How to Tell Your Story 2, on Thursday, August 12th from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm Learn to articulate your skills, strengths and work experience; practice how to address difficult / uncomfortable questions, such as criminal history. These include: focusing on preparing for the interview, learning how to respond to different types of interview questions, learning to articulate skills, strengths and work experience, learning and practicing how to address difficult or uncomfortable questions such as gaps in work experience, criminal history, questions about illegal interviews, and more… plus learning and applying effective and successful follow-up strategies, keys to re-branding and identifying appropriate clothing for an interview. In-person Training Event: Unconscious Bias Part 1, on Friday, August 13th from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Being a leader is hard work! All people, no matter who they are, have unconscious prejudices that influence our behavior and our decisions. This course is designed to deepen your understanding of conscious and unconscious prejudice. The course helps to: define unconscious biases and their various forms, develop tools to identify how biases can influence your decisions and behaviors, and create a range of measures to deal with unconscious biases. These include: defining what a resume is and what its purpose is, learning about different resume formats and their advantages and disadvantages, step-by-step creation of the most common sections in resumes, knowing how to appropriately supplement your resume, Learning what information should be included and what pitfalls to avoid, and preparing and writing your resume. Jobs On The Outside Orientation (ongoing personal training) Triad Goodwill presents the Jobs on The Outside Orientation program. Orientation takes place Every Monday, 10:00 am to 11:00 am at our 1235 Eugene Street Greensboro, NC Career Center. Registration required. In-person information event: HVAC certification program, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. daily at Triad Goodwill’s Career Center, 1235 S. Eugene St. Greensboro NC 27406. Are you looking for a career change with great earning potential? Interested in a career in the HVAC industry? The starting salary for entry-level positions as an HVAC technician averages $ 18 an hour. We recently partnered with Maintenance Heroes (a division of Occupation heroes Incorporated) and the local non-profit organization Reading connections To provide an excellent HVAC training program to all interested adults in Central North Carolina. We also have a partnership with WRLP (Welfare Reform Liaison Project) to provide support services to qualified individuals.
