MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Fifth year Hayley Jackson led the West Virginia University cross-country team and finished second at the Lehigh Invitational Friday night in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Jackson finished the 6 km in 21: 43.4. A second year followed Maria Kaylor who took 18th place (22: 27.9).

Second year Megan Weber followed behind and finished 26th in a time of 22: 46.0. Red shirt junior Malina Mitchell 56th place and rounded off the Mountaineers at the Lehigh Invitational.

It is noteworthy that the WVU drove a small version of their team today.

“I have a feeling we had a nice day in Lehigh,” said coach Sean Cleary. “We wanted to go on the regional circuit and familiarize ourselves with what awaits us in November. Those who drove today implemented our plan very well. The team is returning home in a good mood.”

After a two-week hiatus, the Mountaineers will visit Lock Haven, Pennsylvania for the LHU Invitational on Saturday, September 25th.
