Maughmer, Yellow Jackets gather at Tiffin

TIFFIN, Ohio – Branden Maughmers Double-double brought the Yellow Jackets to an 87-76 win in Tiffin in the G-MAC opener for both sides.

The Senior Guard amassed 28 points and 10 rebounds for Cedarville, 3-3 total.

Quinton Green scored all 16 of his points in the second half.

Isaiah Speelman netted 15 points, Kollin Van Horn had 14, and Conner TenHove pulled down 12 rebounds.

The guests overcame a ten-point deficit in the first half by using stormy shooting in the second third.

For the last 20 minutes, the offense had 60 percent accuracy from the field, including 5-of-8 from depth and converting 10-of-11 free throws.

  • The Yellow Jackets beat the hosts in the second half with 57:41.
  • Jayvon Maughmer gave a team high three assists.
  • Van Horn contributed three blocked shots.
  • There were four draws and three changes in leadership.
  • Tiffin’s biggest lead was 25-15 at the 5:20 mark in the first half.
  • CU broke a 63-63 deadlock with 9:30 remaining by doing a 14-3 run.
  • Cedarville has a 41-37 lead in the series that began in the 1973-74 season.
